Deerland to Highlight Custom Formulations and Branded Products at SupplySide West

The gut microbiome is one of the most exciting areas of scientific study today. There’s no better way to learn about it than at SupplySide West, held from September 27 to 28, in Las Vegas, Nevada. This premier tradeshow assembles more than 15,000 ingredient buyers and suppliers from the dietary supplement, beverage, functional food, personal care, and sports nutrition industries. SupplySide West provides industry leaders a closer look at the science and strategy around the development of finished products, with over 1,200 exhibitors and 140 hours of educational and conference programming.

The continual developments in the study of the microbiome creates new opportunities for supplement companies. As consumers understand more about the health benefits of pre- and probiotics, brand formulators are tasked with discovering new and innovative ingredients with strong science supporting their products’ claims. This year at SupplySide West, booth FF159, Deerland will highlight its expertise in custom formulations of enzymes and probiotics, as well as branded products such as PreforPro®, DE111®, ProHydrolase®, Glutalytic®, and Dairylytic®. The timing of this event is ideal this year, as DE111 and PreforPro have new clinical results to share. Both are non-GMO Project Verified.

In addition to our booth, Deerland will also be featuring DE111 and PreforPro at the International Probiotics Association’s “Probiotic Resource Center” located at booth AA122.

John Deaton, Ph.D., Vice President of Science and Technology Deerland Probiotics & Enzymes & Probiotics, will be giving a Special Presentation at SupplySide West at the IPA Probiotics Resource Center on Wednesday, September 27, at 1:00pm. His talk, entitled Disruptive Innovation: Identifying Next-Gen Probiotic Strains and Prebiotic Mechanisms, will cover clinical results supporting the health benefits of Bacillus subtilis DE111®, including digestive health, regularity, and sports nutrition. He will also review clinical results supporting the digestive health benefits of PreforPro®, a unique prebiotic that is not fiber or starch based. Finally, he will talk about opportunities for food and beverage applications with DE111®.

Disruptive technologies in the pre- and probiotic space will be those unique ingredients that can deliver the digestive health benefits that consumers have come to expect, but offer an edge over traditional strains and ingredients in terms of delivery applications and dosage size with the clinical support to substantiate the claims. Spore-forming probiotic strains and non-fiber prebiotic ingredients are ushering in just such a disruption.
